Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

A scientific seminar dedicated to 27 March – Science Day was held at the Department of Petrochemistry and Chemical Technology of the Faculty of Chemistry at Baku State University. The seminar, titled “Green Fuels and Fuel Components,” was presented by second-year doctoral student Gulban Mammadova.

Opening the event, Head of the Department Ibrahim Mammadov welcomed the participants and highlighted the significance of Science Day in Azerbaijan, as well as the relevance of the seminar topic. He noted the important role of scientific research in national development and technological progress.

In her presentation, Gulban Mammadova provided an overview of Azerbaijan’s energy potential and discussed current research on sustainable fuel technologies. She addressed the production of biofuels from various vegetable oils, their application prospects, the development of oxygenated fuel additives from natural materials, and the incorporation of such additives into B10 fuel blends. The presentation also covered research activities related to biodiesel synthesis using deep eutectic solvents (DES).

The seminar concluded with an interactive discussion, during which participants exchanged views on renewable energy resources, environmentally friendly fuel technologies, and future research directions. Questions from the audience were answered at the end of the event.
