A scientific seminar dedicated to Science Day was organized at the Faculty of Biology to explore the applications of artificial intelligence in biology, genetics, and healthcare. The event, titled “Opportunities of Artificial Intelligence in Biological Modeling,” aimed to demonstrate the impact of modern scientific technologies on biological sciences to students, master's students, and young researchers.
At the beginning of the seminar, appreciation was expressed to the Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Afat Mammadova, and the faculty staff for their support in organizing the event. The speaker, Gulnar Huseynli Guluzade, a graduate of Baku State University’s Genetics program and currently a Research and Development specialist at Smart Solutions, introduced her professional background and ongoing work in the field of artificial intelligence technologies.
During the seminar, participants received detailed information about the role of artificial intelligence in scientific research, its mathematical and technological foundations, and its importance in analyzing large volumes of scientific data. Particular attention was given to the applications of artificial intelligence in biology, genetics, and healthcare. Real-world scientific examples were presented, including protein structure prediction, medical image analysis, and genomic data interpretation.
The primary objective of the seminar was to increase awareness among students and young researchers about the application of artificial intelligence technologies in biology and other scientific fields, while encouraging interest in emerging research directions. The event attracted significant interest, and discussions were held on the role of modern technologies in education and scientific research.
