A meeting titled “Mobility in Modern Cities: Balancing Comfort, Speed, and Accessibility” was organized within the framework of the “Urban Talks” project initiated by the “BSU Volunteers” organization of Baku State University.
The next guest of the project was Rauf Agamirzayev, a member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and an expert in transport and logistics.
The Secretary General of “BSU Volunteers,” Gasim Khalilov, explained the objectives of the project and highlighted its importance in the context of the upcoming World Urban Planning Forum in the country and the Sustainable Development Goals.
During the meeting, the main transportation challenges observed in modern cities—traffic congestion, delays in public transport, overcrowding, and inequality in service delivery—were widely analyzed. Special attention was given to the importance of ensuring transport accessibility for everyone, particularly for people with disabilities, the elderly, and students.
In addition, the necessity of planning cities in a more people-centered and inclusive way was emphasized, and participants were informed about opportunities for managing mobility more effectively through mobile applications and online maps.
