Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

An awareness event titled “Combating Drug Addiction: Preventive Methods and a Socio-Analytical Perspective” was held through the joint initiative of the Student Youth Organization (TGT), “BSU Volunteers”, the Student Scientific Society (SSS), and the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) of the Faculty of International Relations and Economics at Baku State University.

During the event, representatives of the faculty organizations highlighted the importance of preventive methods in combating drug addiction. The speakers addressed not only the legal aspects of this issue but also its social, psychological, and economic dimensions. They emphasized that strengthening awareness among young people, implementing early intervention mechanisms, and promoting a healthy lifestyle are among the main tools for preventing drug dependency.

It was also noted that the role of the social environment, family institution, and educational institutions is of particular importance in this direction, and that effective results cannot be achieved without a comprehensive approach. The speakers analyzed the damage caused by drug addiction to society from statistical and analytical perspectives and underlined the importance of joint efforts by government institutions, non-governmental organizations, and civil society in this field.

As part of the event, interactive discussions were held with participants, and their questions were answered.
