An event titled "A Step Against HIV" was organized by the Faculty of Biology at Baku State University (BSU) in collaboration with the Republic HIV Prevention Center of the Ministry of Health.

Initially, the center's infectious disease specialist, Emiliya Shahbazova, provided information about the measures being taken in the country to combat AIDS/HIV infections and informed students about the ways of transmission of the disease. She emphasized the importance of focusing on educational efforts to achieve more effective results in combating drug addiction and other harmful habits, protecting young people from this social plague, and fostering interest in a healthy lifestyle while promoting national and spiritual values. She also explained the prevention, examination, and treatment methods for the disease.

Subsequently, brochures and booklets related to HIV were distributed to the students. Staff from the Republic HIV Prevention Center conducted free screenings.
