With the support of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) "Private Sector Development" project, Missouri University professor Bing Yang trained at Baku State University (BSU). The training presented in the direction of genome editing technologies and application principles was organized by the Center of Excellence for Research, Development and Innovations of BSU. The main goal of the training is to implement the application of genome editing to strategically important plant species for the country, and to train research specialists in this direction. One of the goals of the training is to create a material and technical base at the next stage, to build a laboratory that will ensure the activity of the field of genome editing, which is a priority for the country. Employees of BSU's Center of Excellence for Research, Development and Innovations, teaching staff and young researchers of the Faculty of Biology, as well as relevant employees of Azerbaijan's research institutes and Azerbaijan Medical University participated in the 7-day training.
