A textbook titled "Ecological Cartography" for universities has been published within the framework of the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World," initiated by the Department of Geodesy and Cartography at the Faculty of Geography of Baku State University (BSU).

The textbook was co-authored by the head of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography, Associate Professor Afghan Talibov, and the department's lecturer Irina Verpatova. Its aim is to improve the quality of teaching in the relevant specializations where the course "Ecological Cartography" is taught, both at BSU and other higher education institutions, as well as to provide students with a textbook based on the relevant program in their language of instruction.

The book consists of five chapters and thirty topics aligned with the course program. It covers important topics such as the essence of ecological cartography, methods of studying ecological conditions, the mathematical and geographical foundation of ecological maps, and the use of aerocosmic materials in their creation. In addition to images, tables, and other supporting materials, the book includes questions and practical tasks to assess students' theoretical knowledge. Furthermore, it presents a glossary with over 300 terms used in ecological cartography.

The scientific editor of the "Ecological Cartography" textbook is the Dean of the Faculty of Geography, Professor Məqsəd Qocamanov, and the reviewers are Associate Professors Ramiz Əhlimanov and Şamil Əzizov.
