Representatives from Turkey's Ankara University of Social Sciences are conducting a two-day seminar at Baku State University (BSU) focused on integrating socio-village systems and ecosystems into university settings. During the seminar's opening, Alish Aghamirzayev, BSU's vice-rector for social issues, student affairs, and public relations, highlighted the strong cooperation between the two institutions in the social sciences. Last year, BSU and Ankara University of Social Sciences signed a memorandum of understanding and participated in the "Erasmus+ K171" exchange program. As part of this agreement, both universities plan to collaborate on social research projects. The BSU delegation previously visited the Social Village at Ankara University to gain insights into its practices. Aghamirzayev stated that the seminar aims to explore how BSU can implement the socio-village system from Ankara University.
During the seminar, Professor Erdal Akdeve, head of the Sociovillage at Ankara University of Social Sciences, and Professor Çetin Öndar, a Sociovillage employee, presented on the implementation of the socio-village system and ecosystem in universities to BSU faculty and staff. They emphasized the importance of developing an innovation ecosystem and technology parks at BSU. Discussions focused on enhancing staff capacity in innovation, supporting social innovation activities in education, and providing resources for students to cultivate their innovative ideas.
