From 3–9 August 2025, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in cooperation with the Azerbaijan Sport Academy (ASA), organized the international summer camp “A Step Towards Sustainable Development” at the Quba Olympic Sports Complex.

Baku State University (BSU) was represented by students as well as the University’s Advisor to the Rector on Quality Policy, Asiman Ilyasov, who was invited as a guest speaker and trainer. During the camp, Mr. Ilyasov conducted training sessions on sustainable development goals, healthy lifestyles, gender equality, sports and well-being, and strategies for addressing global challenges.

The week-long program brought together young participants from Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan. Alongside the training activities, participants took part in lectures, group work, and discussions designed to enhance knowledge, teamwork, and cross-cultural understanding.

The camp also featured cultural evenings, inter-team sports competitions, and excursions to the historical and cultural landmarks of the Quba region. Participants showcased their national traditions, strengthening friendship and cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries.

At the closing ceremony, certificates were presented to all participants. Organizers emphasized their intention to continue hosting such international events to inspire and empower young leaders.
