As part of the "Solidarity for the Green World" year, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology at Baku State University (BSU) hosted a photo contest. Nazakat Karimova, the deputy dean of the faculty, emphasized that the competition aimed to enhance the role of young people in environmental protection and foster environmental awareness among students. He highlighted that Azerbaijan is hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) this year, underscoring the huge responsibility placed on every citizen and the necessity for targeted initiatives.

The photo contest, titled "Our Mother Nature," saw the submission of 150 pictures of various natural landscapes by students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology. Mirakif Babayev, the head of the jury and a photojournalism teacher from the Faculty of Journalism at BSU, provided participants with guidance on taking pictures with phones or cameras. Out of the 150 photos submitted, 91 advanced to the analysis-evaluation stage, with six ultimately being declared winners.

The competition results awarded faculty students Sabina Gasimova I, Amina Maharramova, Nazarli Jeyran II, Ariz Mammadov, Aynur Hamidova, and Jeyran Nazarli the third place.
