Baku State University (BSU) employees took part in a celebration dedicated to the International Day of Biodiversity on May 22nd at the Kur-Experimental Sturgeon Farming Plant of "Azerbaijan Fish Farm" LLC, a subsidiary of "LU-MUN HOLDING", located in Neftchala district.

The event was attended by Mirhasan Seyidov, Head of the Neftchala District Executive Authority, representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the diplomatic corps in Azerbaijan. BSU was represented by Khumar Mammadbagirova, Adviser to the Rector on Youth Policy and Social Issues, Shabnam Safarova, Adviser on Digitalization and Information Technologies, and Jahan Ganizade, Director of the Protocol Sector.

Following the event, attendees participated in a ceremony releasing 50,000 sturgeon fish, cultivated at the Kura Experimental Sturgeon Hatchery, into the Caspian Sea, aiming to protect the environment and restore marine biodiversity.

Earlier this year, BSU signed an agreement with "LU-MUN HOLDING" to enhance cooperation in scientific and technical fields.
