The Student Youth Organization at the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University (BSU) organized an event titled "Let's Say No to Drug Addiction!" where students gathered to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.
Yusif Abiyev, the deputy dean of the faculty for social issues and student affairs, addressed the attendees, highlighting the destructive impact of drugs on the human body, the social problems associated with addiction, and its detrimental effects on the gene pool. He emphasized that drug addiction undermines moral values, hampers socio-economic development, poses significant risks to life and health, and contributes to increased criminal activity. Abiyev stressed the crucial role of scientific and educational institutions in combating this issue and advocated for the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and increased awareness among young people.
Following Abiyev's presentation, first-year students Natavan Akbarova and Ismayil Mutallimli delivered a presentation on narcotic plants, providing insight into their characteristics and effects.
The event concluded with the screening of an educational video aimed at further informing participants about the consequences of drug addiction.
