Teachers from the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology of Baku State University (BSU), Azer Mustafayev and Yaman Valiyeva, delivered a lecture at the Scientific-Educational Center of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan for candidates who successfully passed the competition for recruitment into the prosecution authorities in 2024.

Azer Mustafayev, who presented a lecture on "The Motivation of Criminals," scientifically analyzed the behavior of criminals, focusing on their age characteristics, levels of psychological development, issues of gender socialization, and pathological factors. Theoretical concepts were verified with practical examples.

Yaman Valiyeva, who presented a lecture on "The Psychological Foundations of Preliminary Investigation," discussed the psychological aspects of the investigator’s professional activity aimed at determining the truth of the case immediately after the initiation of a criminal investigation. She emphasized that an investigator must possess deep professional thinking, extensive experience, and strong psychological competence, and must be able to influence the psychology of the person being interrogated.

After the lectures, participants' opinions were heard, and their questions were answered.
