In the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University (BSU), an event dedicated to March 8 - International Women's Day was held on the theme "Woman is beautiful to mankind, honor to humanity". Faculty dean Afat Mammadova spoke about the role of women in society and the family, the state's policy on women, as well as the features of the Azerbaijani family model. Afat Mammadova, who said that Azerbaijani women are an example of social and political activity, loyalty to the Motherland, attachment to the family and selflessness, advised the female students to always bear this holy name with dignity. Associate professor Anar Mammadov, head of the Microbiology research laboratory, professor Khudaverdi Ganbarov spoke about the qualities of Azerbaijani women and said that women have an important role in the life of the country and BSU. At the event, a certificate of appreciation was presented to third-year student Shams Islamova, associate professor of Biophysics and Biochemistry Department Samira Hummatova, who actively participates in the social life of the department, and laboratory director of that department Firangiz Babayeva for showing the highest result in the winter exam session. Flowers were distributed to female teachers by the members of the Student Trade Union Committee (THIK) and the Student Youth Organization.
