Joint event by BSU and Biological Diversity Protection Service at Shirvan National Park

Baku State University (BSU) and the Biological Diversity Protection Service, a division under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (EMSN), collaborated to organize an event celebrating International Biodiversity Day on May 22nd at Shirvan National Park.

The event saw participation from officials representing both the Ministry and the University, alongside students from the Faculty of Biology and community members from the Salyan region. BSU students began by exploring an exhibition dedicated to International Biodiversity Day.

Arzu Babayeva, Deputy Head of the Biological Diversity Protection Service, delivered the opening speech, emphasizing the significance of the occasion and highlighting ETSN's recent projects aimed at safeguarding and restoring endangered species and protected natural areas.

Following this, Seymur Karimov, Director of Shirvan National Park, provided insights to the students about the park's efforts in restoring and reintroducing species protected within its boundaries, including those listed in the "Red Book".

The event concluded with students gaining knowledge about the diverse plant and animal species protected within Shirvan National Park.
