The rector of Baku State University (BSU), Elchin Babayev, met with Anar Jafarov, the director of the Agricultural Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Rector Elchin Babayev noted that various research is being conducted at BSU in the fields of aquaculture, food and water security, ecological problem-solving, and the efficient use of natural resources. Modern laboratories are being established, with a special focus on training young specialists. The latest technologies are being applied in the university's scientific research centers. In this regard, BSU is interested in collaborating with the Agricultural Innovation Center.
Anar Jafarov, the director of the Agricultural Innovation Center, provided information about the center's activities, ongoing projects, regional innovation festivals, and the support measures offered by the center. He mentioned that students from higher education institutions show great interest in startups that contribute to the development of digitization in the agricultural sector and the increase of productivity.
During the meeting, the potential collaboration opportunities between BSU and the center were discussed, particularly in terms of a project related to the application of artificial intelligence in agriculture.
