New specialization in food product expertise and marketing at BSU

Starting in the 2024/2025 academic year, Baku State University's (BSU) Department of Analytical Chemistry, within the Faculty of Chemistry, will introduce a new master's specialization in "Expertise and Marketing of Food Products." This program aims to train qualified professionals in food engineering.

The curriculum includes courses on "Quality and Safety of Food Products," "Expertise of Biological Raw Materials and Food Products," and "Modern Problems in Food Product Analysis." Students will gain comprehensive knowledge in food product expertise, employing physical, physico-chemical, microbiological, and chemical analysis methods. They will also be introduced to organoleptic research techniques and will study national and international food safety programs and regulations.

The program covers microbial contamination sources, sanitary-epidemiological control measures in food production, and the legal framework for environmental safety.
