A informational session on "The Consequences of Early Marriage" was held, organized by the members of the "BDU Volunteers" organization from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology.
During the session, it was emphasized that early marriages are one of the most pressing social problems of our time. According to legislation, marriages conducted before the age of 18 are considered early marriages and are deemed illegal. Furthermore, children at an early age are not physiologically or psychologically prepared for marriage. Early marriages can lead to significant consequences in their lives, including domestic violence, maternal and infant mortality during childbirth, and various physical and psychological difficulties. The session included explanations of amendments to the Family Code, Criminal Code, and Administrative Offenses Code aimed at preventing early marriages, as well as related issues.
The event concluded with the screening of a short educational film.
