Strengthening of the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University (BSU) and with the project of the Forestry Development Service under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the afforestation event "Let's block carbon" and "Measuring the carbon storage potential of trees" dedicated to the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World" are being conducted.

In the events organized in the area of the forest fund of Shabran region, the students of the Faculty of Biology in Plant protection and Biology majors are included.

Vahid Farfa, head of the department of the Forestry Development Service, Khagani Mammadova, the organizer of the Regional Forestry Center No. 4, gave information about the rules of planting special plants, energy supply by the terrace method and its safety. It was noted that the use of drought-adapted plants in reforestation systems causes significant damage. The students were given detailed information about the procedure for calculating the volume, biomass and carbon of trees, the concept of carbon, and the carbon capture mechanism of trees.

Later, the changes took part in the establishment of an enterprise in the name of Yusif Abiyev, assistant dean for social issues of the Faculty of Biology.
