The "Green Dialogue: Innovation and International Cooperation Platform" project, aimed at addressing ecological problems and supporting sustainable development, has been launched in collaboration with the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku State University (BSU), the Public Union for the Progress of Karabakh, and the African Youth Development Foundation, within the framework of the COP29 international conference.
As part of the project, a discussion panel was held on November 16 in the Green Zone of COP29. The panel was moderated by Shabnam Safarova, Advisor on Digitalization and Information Technologies to the Rector of BSU and Chairwoman of the Public Union for the Progress of Karabakh. Participants included Professor Tunji Asaolu, Vice President of the African School of Diplomacy and International Relations and Head of the African Youth Development Foundation, Vonda Grobeller, Expert on Quality Assurance in Higher Education, Orkhan Shirinzade, CEO of E&O Global Inc. in the USA, and Emil Qasimov, Researcher in Geology and Environmental Sciences at St. Petersburg Mining University. During the panel, topics such as "The Importance of Sustainable Development," "Climate Education for Future Generations," "Assessment of Management Efficiency in Methane (CBM) Production from Gas Fields and CO2 Capture," and "Green Logistics: Overcoming Investment and Implementation Barriers" were discussed.
The main goal of the project is to strengthen social awareness and international cooperation in solving ecological problems such as water scarcity, soil salinization, and the reduction of forest resources.
As part of the project, the "Green Dialogue Forum" was established to organize an annual forum bringing together government representatives, private sector experts, and members of the academic community.
