19-12-2024

A training session titled "Practical Experience and Ethical Approach in Psychology" was held for students of the "Psychology" and "Social Psychology Services in Education" programs at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology of Baku State University (BSU). The training was organized by the BSU Career and Alumni Affairs Center and conducted by psychologist Afag Mammadova.

The trainer provided students with detailed information on the main components of practical experience (theoretical knowledge, professional training, diagnostic skills) and additional components (personal therapy, supervision, intervision). She discussed the challenges faced by newly qualified psychologists (such as anxiety, stress, trauma, ethical dilemmas, etc.) and ways to overcome them. The trainer also covered ethical approaches in practice (non-maleficence, confidentiality, competence, integrity, respect, etc.), emphasizing that a psychologist’s ethical guidelines establish the key principles for conducting their professional activities properly and for behaving responsibly and respectfully towards patients, colleagues, and society.

At the end of the session, the students' questions were answered.
