24-04-2024

The training session titled "Family as the Primary Conveyer of National and Moral Values" took place at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology at Baku State University (BSU). Volunteers from the faculty, along with members of the Student Youth Organization, actively participated in the event.

During the training session led by the faculty dean, Rovshan Javadov, participants were provided with insights into the historical evolution and formation of the family institution, highlighting its distinctive developmental characteristics and the influence of globalization on familial dynamics. Javadov emphasized the pivotal role of the family throughout Azerbaijan's history, underscoring its significance as a bastion of our nation's moral fabric and the custodian of our genetic heritage. He stressed the importance of fostering sincere and culturally rich relationships within families, particularly emphasizing the need for nurturing healthy parent-child dynamics. Javadov articulated the imperative for Azerbaijani families to uphold our national traditions, asserting that the family institution is intrinsically intertwined with the societal and temporal context in which it exists. While acknowledging the positive aspects of globalization and technological advancement, Javadov cautioned against the detrimental effects of foreign influences, which may erode traditional family values and lead to undesirable transformations in familial relations. He highlighted the collective responsibility of both families and educational institutions in nurturing the younger generation and safeguarding our national identity. Javadov urged society and individual citizens to actively resist foreign influences and to steadfastly uphold our cherished national values.

During the training, participants were briefed on research initiatives undertaken at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology pertaining to the family institution. Additionally, insights were provided on the psychological dimensions of intra-family relationships.

The session concluded with a Q&A session where students' inquiries were addressed.
