The 5th Republican Scientific Conference on “Chemistry and Chemical Technology” for doctoral students, master’s students, and young researchers, dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, has been held at Baku State University (BSU) under the organization of the Faculty of Chemistry.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry Fuad Karimli noted that the 103rd anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of independent Azerbaijan, is being commemorated with great respect throughout the country. He highlighted the National Leader’s outstanding contributions to the development and modernization of Azerbaijan’s chemical industry. The dean also emphasized the significant role of BSU’s Faculty of Chemistry in training highly qualified chemistry specialists and stated that a total of 224 abstracts had been submitted to the conference from various universities and research institutes of the Ministry of Science and Education across the country.
In their speeches, Academician Vagif Farzaliyev, Director of the Institute of Chemistry of the Ministry of Science and Education Afsun Sucayev, Corresponding Member of ANAS Professor Mahammad Babanli, Vice-Rector of Sumgayit State University Elshad Abdullayev, and Head of the Department of Analytical and Organic Chemistry of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University Ali Zalov spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s invaluable contributions to state-building and the advancement of science. The speakers noted that this policy is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev and particularly emphasized the National Leader’s historic role in the development of Azerbaijan’s petrochemical industry. They also highlighted the importance of scientific conferences in supporting the future academic careers of master’s students and young researchers.
During the plenary session, presentations were delivered by Albina Poladova, a doctoral student at the Institute of Chemistry of the Ministry of Science and Education, and Aynur Farzaliyeva, a doctoral student of the Department of Petrochemistry and Chemical Technology at the Faculty of Chemistry of BSU.
The conference, which will continue for two days, will proceed through four thematic sections, providing participants with opportunities to present their research findings, exchange scientific ideas, and establish new academic collaborations.
