Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

An awareness session dedicated to the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum 13 was held on May 13 at Baku State University with the aim of informing the public about the forum. The event brought together members of the university’s academic staff and nearly 400 students from BSU and Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.

During the event, BSU Vice-Rector Alish Agamirzayev stated that university students have always actively participated in the country’s socio-political life. He also noted that BSU students would take part in the WUF13 event as volunteers, emphasizing the significance of the forum for both Azerbaijan and the international community.

Representative of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ramiz Idrisoglu, provided information on Azerbaijan’s contemporary urban planning policy, the initiatives being implemented in this field, and new approaches related to employment, inclusivity, and mobility opportunities in urban planning.

Communication Manager of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company, Emin Huseynzade, delivered a detailed presentation on WUF13. He invited the university’s academic staff and students to participate in the forum and announced that the event program had already been published. He noted that participants would be able to join the forum both in person and online.

The WUF13 Festival continues with a public program held near the Clock Tower area of the Seaside National Park.

Within the framework of the program, topics such as sustainable urban development, inclusive urban environments, innovative urban solutions, and the cities of the future will be presented to a broad audience through interactive activities, educational games, presentations, and public discussions. Detailed information about the main theme and ideas of WUF13 will also be provided.
