Students of the Faculty of Biology at Baku State University (BSU) visited Absheron National Park as part of an educational excursion dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
The event began with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Head of the Department of Zoology and Physiology of the Faculty of Biology, Abulfaz Tagiyev, shared his memories of Heydar Aliyev and highlighted his historic contributions to strengthening Azerbaijani statehood and promoting the country's comprehensive development.
Director of Absheron National Park, Etibar Ibrahimov, spoke about Heydar Aliyev's role in the establishment and development of the Azerbaijani state, emphasizing his policies on environmental protection, conservation of natural resources, ecological management, and biodiversity preservation. He also noted the important contribution of national parks to maintaining the country's ecological balance.
During the excursion, students conducted field observations throughout the park and learned about its rich biodiversity, including reptiles, mammals, and bird species. Discussions also focused on the impact of fluctuations in the Caspian Sea's water level on local wildlife and ecosystems.
The program also included a cycling activity for students. At the conclusion of the event, three students who excelled in a competition organized during the excursion were recognized and awarded prizes.
