Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

A training session on the topic “social-emotional learning and skills” was organized for the academic staff of Baku State University (BSU) by the Quality Assurance Center. The training was conducted by Elmina Kazimzade, educational psychologist and Associate Professor at the Department of Gender and Applied Psychology of BSU.

The main objective of the training was to enhance the academic staff’s theoretical and practical knowledge of social-emotional learning approaches, modern pedagogical methods applied in this field, and the development of social-emotional skills within student-centered education.

During the event, extensive discussions were held on the role of social-emotional learning in higher education, the development of students’ emotional intelligence, and the impact of empathy, effective communication, and collaboration skills on the quality of education.

In addition, participants were informed about the integration of social-emotional skills into the educational process, the importance of these competencies in strengthening teacher-student relationships, and practical approaches for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

The interactive training concluded with a Q&A session and an exchange of ideas on the topic.
