An educational and interactive event entitled “Digital Step” was jointly organized by the Student Youth Organization (SYO) of Baku State University (BSU) and the Student Youth Organization of the Faculty of Chemistry.
The primary objective of the event was to enhance students’ knowledge of digital technologies and modern software tools, while encouraging the effective use of these resources in educational activities and creative projects.
As part of the event, students of the Faculty of Chemistry delivered detailed presentations on the platforms Suno, Magic School, Gemini, Canva, and Mentimeter. The speakers provided comprehensive information about the functionality, practical applications, and advantages of these digital tools for students. It was emphasized that such platforms offer significant opportunities for creating presentations, managing projects, utilizing artificial intelligence, conducting interactive surveys, and producing creative digital content.
Participants demonstrated practical examples of how these tools can be integrated into academic activities and shared their experiences regarding their use in the learning process. Particular interest was shown in Canva’s capabilities for creating visual presentations, Mentimeter’s interactive polling features, and the contributions of AI-powered platforms such as Gemini and Magic School to modern education. The Suno platform also attracted attention for its potential in creative content generation and innovative digital production.
The event continued in an interactive format, allowing participants to engage actively with the presentations, ask questions, and gain deeper insights into the practical applications of the featured technologies. During the discussions, special emphasis was placed on the importance of developing digital competencies as a key factor in both academic achievement and professional success in the modern world.
At the conclusion of the event, the speakers highlighted the significance of applying newly acquired digital skills in everyday life, education, and future career development. Students were encouraged to stay informed about emerging technological innovations and continuously improve their digital literacy. The event was met with great interest and received highly positive feedback from participants.
