An event entitled “Urban Planning Policy and Modern Approaches” was organized by the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) of the Faculty of Chemistry at Baku State University (BSU).
The event focused on the significant role played by Heydar Aliyev, the architect of modern Azerbaijani statehood, in shaping and advancing urban planning policy in the country. Discussions highlighted strategic projects implemented under his leadership, as well as efforts to ensure the systematic development of urbanization processes.
Speakers noted that the urban planning concept established by the National Leader continues to align with contemporary approaches and remains an important factor in Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development. Particular emphasis was placed on the influence of this policy on the formation of the modern architectural image of Baku and the transformation of urban infrastructure across the country.
As part of the event, students exchanged views on urban planning, sustainable development, strategic planning, and modern urbanistic approaches. A video presentation related to the topic was also screened, providing participants with additional insights into the evolution of urban development policies and practices.
At the conclusion of the event, participants emphasized the importance of such educational initiatives in broadening young people’s scientific outlook, increasing their awareness of contemporary development challenges, and encouraging active engagement with issues related to sustainable urban growth.
