Faculty member participated in an international scientific event
07-05-2026

Aynura Karimova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry of High-Molecular Compounds of the Faculty of Chemistry at Baku State University (BSU), participated in an international scientific event supported by the COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) programme.

The 4th General Meeting of the COST Action “Confined Molecular Systems: From a New Generation of Materials to the Stars (COSY)” (CA21101) was held from 27–29 April 2026 at the Institute of Fundamental Physics of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Madrid, Spain.

The event featured extensive scientific sessions dedicated to the experimental and theoretical investigation of molecular systems in confined environments. Discussions focused on contemporary research areas including advanced materials, catalysis, biomolecular systems, and nanostructures. Presentations were delivered within the framework of the five COSY Working Groups, providing a platform for strengthening international scientific collaboration.

Representing BSU, Aynura Karimova delivered a presentation entitled “Confined Organization of Drugs in Fe₃O₄@Dextran Nanostructures: The Effect of Nanocarrier-to-Drug Ratio.” Her presentation examined the interactions between drug molecules and dextran-coated Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles, with particular emphasis on how the nanocarrier-to-drug ratio influences the structural organization of the system and the drug-loading characteristics.

The presentation attracted considerable interest from participants, and the questions raised during the discussion session were addressed by the speaker.
