A scientific seminar dedicated to the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” was organized by the Student Scientific Society (SSS) of the Faculty of Chemistry at Baku State University (BSU).
The seminar focused on the topic “Structural Investigation of Polymer Composites Prepared Using Various Waste Materials.” The subject was selected due to its relevance to environmental protection, waste recycling, and the conversion of waste into valuable materials.
The presentation was delivered by Nazrin Pirguliyeva, a third-year student of the Faculty of Chemistry. In her presentation, she provided an overview of the general properties of polymers, their wide range of industrial applications, and their significance in modern materials science. She also discussed the use of different types of waste materials in the production of polymer composites, highlighting their structural characteristics and potential applications.
In addition, the speaker examined successful waste management and recycling practices implemented in countries such as China and Singapore, emphasizing the relationship between sustainable waste utilization and economic development. Particular attention was given to how efficient recycling systems contribute both to solving environmental challenges and to creating economic value.
The seminar attracted considerable interest from participants. The presentation was followed by an engaging discussion session, during which students actively exchanged ideas and had their questions addressed by the speaker.
