A training session titled “The Contribution of Scientific Research to Sustainable Development” has been organized for the academic staff of Baku State University by the university’s Quality Assurance Center.
The training was conducted by the Rector’s Advisor on Quality Assurance, Asiman Ilyasov.
The main purpose of the training was to analyze the relationship between scientific research activities carried out in higher education institutions and the principles of sustainable development, identify the role of scientific outcomes in addressing socio-economic and environmental challenges, and discuss the alignment of research activities with international sustainable development priorities.
During the training, it was emphasized that the effective management of universities’ scientific potential, the promotion of multidisciplinary research, and the expansion of international scientific cooperation mechanisms play a significant role in shaping innovative scientific approaches in response to global challenges.
Within the framework of the session, presentations were delivered on the methodological foundations of sustainability-oriented scientific research, the practical application of research outcomes, and the importance of sustainable development indicators in international university ranking and evaluation systems.
International best practice examples were also analyzed during the training, followed by interactive discussions and exchanges of views on the role of higher education institutions in advancing sustainable development.
