A training session titled “Integration of Sustainable Development Goals into Teaching and Research Processes” has been organized by the Quality Assurance Center of Baku State University for the university’s academic staff. The training was delivered by the Rector’s Advisor on Quality Assurance, Asiman Ilyasov.
The main objective of the training was to promote the systematic and sustainable integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the activities of academic staff, as well as to align educational programs and research activities with global sustainability priorities.
Within the framework of the training, presentations were delivered on the strategic importance of the SDGs in higher education, their role in the long-term development strategies of higher education institutions, the promotion of multidisciplinary approaches, and the application of sustainability principles in research activities.
In addition, effective mechanisms for integrating the SDGs into university governance, teaching, research, and public engagement activities were discussed based on advanced international higher education practices. The session also included interactive discussions and exchanges of ideas with participants.
Baku State University has identified the implementation of sustainable development principles in university governance, education, research, and public engagement as one of its strategic priorities. In this direction, consistent and targeted measures are being implemented to strengthen institutional capacity. These initiatives constitute an integral part of the university’s development strategy aligned with international sustainability standards and contribute to the enhancement of the quality assurance system and the further strengthening of a culture of sustainable development at BSU.
