Baku State University (BSU) Scientific Library organized its traditional book exhibition on September 27 – Memorial Day.
The exhibition featured nearly 50 books in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English, reflecting the history of territories liberated under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev. It highlighted the processes leading to victory in the 44-day Patriotic War and showcased the lives of heroic sons of the homeland who sacrificed themselves for the sovereignty of the country.
This year, the exhibition focused on honoring the memory of heroes who were martyred during the 44-day Patriotic War. Featured works included: “Martyr Doctors” (R. Gurbanli), “Brave Commander to Martyrdom – Lieutenant Colonel Nail Rafail oglu Orujov” (Z. Abbasov), “The Homeland Called You Son” (E. Guliyev), “Martyr Ceyhun’s Epic” (R. Elyar), “The Scent of Shusha”, “From Skies to Skies: Diary of a Martyr – Hafiz, Teacher, Martyr Elgun Guliyev”, “Commander” (Sh. Agayar), “Mahmud Who Contributed to Victory” (R. Najafova), “Long Traces of Short Lives…” (M. Agaguloglu), “Emin’s Martyrdom Peak” (M. Imamquluyeva), and “Those Who Wrote Epics with Their Blood” (E. Ismayil). These works convey the courage, dedication, and heroism of martyrs in defending the homeland.
The exhibition also included BSU-published books such as “Interviews of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with Foreign Media during the Patriotic War”, “BSU Faculty and Students’ Appearances in National Media during the Patriotic War”, “Patriotic War in Local and Foreign Media”, “Baku State University during the Patriotic War”, and “Graduates Making History”.
