The Faculty of Biology at Baku State University (BSU) is expanding its research collaboration with foreign universities.
Nigar Huseynova, a lecturer at the Department of Biophysics and Biochemistry of the BSU Faculty of Biology, conducted a scientific visit to the İzmir Institute of Technology (IYTE) in İzmir, Turkey, under the supervision of Professor Rovshan Khalilov.
During her visit to the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at IYTE, Huseynova conducted research on “Investigating new approaches for effective treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia.” The research involved the use of modern laboratory equipment and contributed to the enhancement of both theoretical and practical knowledge.
Natavan Bakhshalieva, a lecturer at the Department of Genetics, carried out research at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of Karadeniz Technical University. The project, conducted jointly with Associate Professor Murat Erdem Güzel, focused on studying the genetic polymorphism and phylogenetic relationships of species belonging to the Diospyros L. (Ebenaceae) genus found in Azerbaijan, using ISSR, ScOT, and ITS markers. The study will make a significant contribution to understanding the genetic diversity and evolutionary relationships of Diospyros species in the Azerbaijani flora.
Such international collaborations provide young scientists and researchers at the faculty with opportunities to master modern scientific methodologies, utilize advanced laboratory facilities, and establish academic networks.
