Baku State University (BSU), together with the Media Development Agency and the Judicial Legal Council, organized a master class for students of the Faculty of Journalism on “The Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan as a Reliable Guarantee for the Protection of Human Rights.”
Adil Taghiyev, Head of the Legal Department at the Media Development Agency, noted that within the framework of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty”, the Agency places special emphasis on educational initiatives for youth. Seminars, trainings, and various projects for students are particularly important for conveying the essence of the Constitution, the principles of human rights protection, and constitutional values to the public.
Vuqar Aliyev, member of the Supervisory Board of the Media Development Agency and Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, emphasized that the Constitution is not only a legal document but also the foundation of state ideology, national values, and the construction of a democratic society. He stated: “Organizing such master classes within the ‘Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty’ significantly contributes to enhancing young people’s legal knowledge, deepening their understanding of constitutional values, and strengthening their sense of civic responsibility.”
Later, Judge Xayala Jamilova of the Baku Court of Appeal highlighted that the adoption of the Constitution played a decisive role in establishing the legal foundation of modern Azerbaijani statehood. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Constitution and the 5th anniversary of the restoration of our state sovereignty, making the promotion of these values among the younger generation and the strengthening of legal awareness a priority.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion involving students, during which various questions on the protection of human rights and legal approaches in journalistic practice were addressed.
