BSU Rector spoke as a panelist at “The Times Higher Education Eurasian Universities Summit”

Within the framework of the “Times Higher Education (THE) Eurasian Universities Summit” held in Baku with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education and the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, Baku State University (BSU) Rector Elchin Babayev participated as a panelist in the discussion titled “Reimagining University–Society Partnerships.”

The panel focused on rethinking the partnerships between universities and society, developing sustainable and effective educational initiatives, the role of higher education institutions in supporting local economic development, and the importance of partnerships based on mutual benefit.

In his speech, Rector Babayev emphasized that universities should not be limited to education and research alone but should also contribute to the social and economic development of society. He highlighted various initiatives implemented by BSU in this area, including cooperation projects with local communities and strategies supporting sustainable regional development.

The panel was moderated by Thomas Auf der Heyde, Vice President of Constructor University, Germany, with Sibille Reichert, Founder and Director of Reichert Higher Education Consulting, also participating as a panelist.

BSU’s participation in the summit contributes significantly to expanding the university’s international cooperation opportunities and integrating global experiences into the local higher education system.
