A Republican scientific conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at Baku State University (BSU) on the theme "National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Reading Culture of Azerbaijan" organized by the Faculty of Information and Document Management. First, the National Anthem was played, and the dear memories of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our compatriots who were martyred for the freedom of our land were commemorated with a minute's silence.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Professor Mais Suleymanov, director of the Center for Organization of Scientific Research and Innovations of BSU, emphasized the importance of declaring 2023 as the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" in our country by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated September 29, 2022. He said that the Scientific Council of BSU adopted the Action Plan for the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. According to the plan, conferences, seminars, exhibitions, knowledge, sports competitions and other events are organized: "From this point of view, the holding of today's conference is commendable. Because our Great Leader Heydar Aliyev highly valued library work and book culture both during the Soviet period and during the years of independence, and took important steps for the development of this field. Today, that policy is successfully continued by the worthy follower of our National Leader, President Ilham Aliyev and the First Vice-President of our country Mehriban Aliyeva.
