Training for BSU students at Altiaghac National Park

On June 5, in honor of Environmental Protection Day, a student training session was held at Altiaghac National Park. The event was a collaboration between the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University (BSU) and the Biological Diversity Protection Service under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

Dargah Rustamov, the Director of Altıağac National Park, discussed the significance of environmental protection, detailing the park's activities, the species under its protection, and the operations of the Wildlife Restoration Center and Rehabilitation Clinic. He also introduced the students to the various animals undergoing rehabilitation at the clinic and explained the work processes involved.

Sevinj Humbatova, an associate professor from the Department of Zoology and Physiology at the Faculty of Biology, educated future biologists about the bird species inhabiting the National Park. She provided training on tracking bird movements using various observation tools. The deputy dean of the Faculty of Biology- Yusif Abiyev, discussed the plants along the park's routes, highlighting their bioecological characteristics. He also covered herbarium preparation, forest layers, carbon measurements, and the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS).

The format of the training was interactive.
