Baku State University’s Outreach and Sustainable Development Initiatives
Baku State University (BSU) is dedicated to advancing sustainable development and community engagement through a wide range of outreach activities. These initiatives aim to foster environmental stewardship, promote sustainable practices, and provide educational opportunities for alumni, local residents, displaced individuals, students, and other community members.
Baku State University (BSU) actively offers and manages outreach projects for the local community, providing educational, health, environmental awareness, and social engagement activities. These initiatives are implemented through university units such as the BSU Volunteers, Student Scientific Society, Student Trade Union Committee, academic faculties, and external partners. The programs aim to strengthen community engagement, increase public awareness, and share academic expertise with society.

During National Science Day 2025, the Physics and Chemistry faculties conducted hands-on laboratory demonstrations for 200 high school students from Baku.

The Faculty of History delivered a public lecture on “Cultural Heritage of Azerbaijan” at a local community center, attracting over 100 participants.

The School-University Engagement Program (since 2022) sends BSU students monthly to Baku and regional schools to deliver workshops in mathematics, literature, and STEM subjects. Over 500 school students participated in 2024.

The 1st International Scientific Conference titled “A Sustainable Future: Integrated Development of Earth Sciences and Ecology” has commenced at Baku State University (BSU). The conference is organized by BSU with scientific partnership from Konya Technical University (Türkiye), Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Satbayev Kazakh National Research Technical University (Kazakhstan), the University of Geological Sciences (Uzbekistan), and Banat University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (Romania).
